Kerry Bensman, a seven-year veteran of the Lafayette City Council, quietly resigned and made it effective July 3rd.Bensman, who was first elected in 2003 and whose term would have run until November 2011, said he decided to leave his post early because he felt he had done as much as he could for Lafayette.
