Measures filed to adjust income & elminate business taxs for 2012 ballot

Two tax ballot measures for the 2012 ballot — yes, 2012 — were filed Friday, including a provision that eliminates the hated business personal-property tax.

The measures also call for reducing the state sales tax but taxing services as well as goods, changing the income-tax system to a graduated system and making a tax credit for low-income workers permanent.

The proposals were filed with the Legislative Council by Denver residents Bill Kirton and Nora Neureiter, who are working with the Colorado Fiscal Policy Institute. Read More -
