Hickenlooper raises twice as much money as McInnis

John Hickenlooper raised more than twice as much money in the month of June as his likely Republican opponent, Scott McInnis.

The campaign reports having raised $503,190 during the month, $350,000 of which was used to reserve future TV ad time. The campaign has now dedicated $1.2 million to buying ad time on television later this fall, and is holding $66,405 in cash on hand.

By buying advertising time in advance, the Hickenlooper campaign hopes to get more bang for its buck, a strategy that the Washington Post's The Fix blog says has the potential to backfire in the event that the campaign's fundraising dries up before November.   More -
