An ordinance that would ban medical marijuana growing in unincorporated areas of Weld County was passed on second reading Monday, but the board of Weld County Commissioners wants to conduct another work session on the issue before it comes up for final approval.
A date for that work session was not set.
The commissioners heard from four people at its regular Monday meeting who urged regulating the growing of medical marijuana rather than banning it, including two primary care givers. But commissioners are wrestling over an issue that would allow the production of a material that is illegal under federal government regulations, and confusion over a measure passed by the Colorado legislature this past session. - More -
