Norton: “I’m supporting – and encouraging you to support – Ken Buck”

Wednesday afternoon, former GOP Senate candidate Jane Norton issued this press release to her supporters:

Friends:

Now that the dust has settled a bit, I want to thank each and every one of you for all of your efforts on behalf of my campaign.

Thank you for all of your contributions – your prayers, your many hours of phone calls and door knocks, your financial support, and your well wishes.

It was just about a year ago that I decided to throw my hat into the ring for the U.S. Senate. It was not a decision I made easily; Mike and I spent many hours in thoughtful consideration. Although the election did not turn out as we had hoped and I was disappointed, there are many things for which I am truly grateful.

As I traveled the state, I had the privilege of meeting so many wonderful Coloradans and visiting so many beautiful places. I have always believed that it is the spirit of the people that makes our nation great. Campaigning and meeting you affirms that assertion and gives me great hope for our future.

The reasons I entered the race are still there today — the federal government is out of control and our country is in jeopardy. I am committed to doing everything I can to preserve and protect the ideals on which our nation was founded. And I know you are too. If we all work together, we can take our country back and restore Colorado conservative values.

I’m also supporting – and encouraging you to support – Ken Buck. This election is bigger than Ken or Jane: it’s about the direction of our country. And Ken and I both believe that the madness in Washington must stop. [emphasis added]

Your support and friendship means a lot. Stay engaged – the struggle for our nation has never mattered more.

Again, my sincere thanks to you for everything you did to help my campaign. Mike and I send our best wishes to you and your family. Keep the faith and keep up the fight.

Sincerely,     Jane
