Poll: Tipton leads Salazar in CD3

The Tipton for Congress campaign today released results of a telephone survey that shows Republican businessman Scott Tipton leading Democrat Congressman John Salazar 49% to 43% in the 3rd Congressional District race.

The survey, conducted August 17th, also showed 46% of respondents have an unfavorable opinion about Congressman Salazar and 46% disapprove of the job Salazar is doing in Congress.

"We are extremely pleased with this validation that we quite frankly already knew which is that voters know John Salazar and they know they want a change" said Tipton spokesman Sean Walsh. "Scott's positive message of lowering taxes, creating jobs, shrinking government and reducing federal spending has been resonating with the hard working people in every corner of this District," he added.

The poll by Magellan Strategies surveyed 973 likely general election voters in the 3rd Congressional district. The survey has a margin of error of 3.14%.
