Romanoff faces funding squeeze

Colorado Senate candidate Andrew Romanoff faces a tricky question if he’s able to knock off Sen. Michael Bennet next week: How does he fund his general election campaign?

Romanoff, who has overtaken Bennet in the latest SurveyUSA poll ahead of the Aug. 10 Democratic primary, has made one of the pillars of his bid a rejection of the thousands of dollars corporations and interest groups funnel into political action committees

The campaign has said the candidate would keep his no-PAC pledge if he’s able to advance to the general election. But some Colorado Democrats worry that lofty standard will tie the party’s hands in what will be a grueling, expensive battle with either Ken Buck or former Lt. Gov. Jane Norton.   – More -
