Tancredo standing by his endorsement of Cory Gardner

Third-party gubernatorial candidate Tom Tancredo is standing by his earlier endorsement of Republican congressional candidate Cory Gardner, even though Tancredo bolted the GOP for the American Constitution Party.

The ACP has a candidate in the 4th Congressional District race, farmer Doug Aden of Fort Lupton.

But in an interview with the Coloradoan last week, Tancredo said he wouldn't be endorsing other members of the ACP ticket. In addition to Aden, the party is also fielding candidates for secretary of state, three other congressional races, a state Senate seat and the Adams County sheriff's race.

"Even when I was a Republican elected official, there were people I endorsed and people I didn't. And it really was based mostly on the issues that confronted them," Tancredo said.    – More -
