
Wiens said "I just sent in my ballot, and I voted for Scott McInnis and let's hope things work out. Who knows what might happen? Nobody can predict anything in Colorado this year," Wiens then added,"You never rule anything out. I'm certainly qualified to run and be governor. I think I know the state better than almost anyone."
But one Republican familiar with Wiens's thinking said he has reached out to a few close friends and advisers to sketch out a contingency plan if McInnis opts out of the race or loses the primary.
"Remember, he always wanted to be governor first and foremost," the Republican said, referring to Wiens's early flirtations with a gubernatorial bid in the fall of 2009. – More -
