Yard sign war erupts in Arapahoe County commissioner race

Campaign signs wars are never pretty and this one involves the Greenwood Village mayor, a Centennial council woman and police cruisers.

Mayor Nancy Sharpe is a Republican running for Arapahoe County commissioner. Centennial Councilwoman Sue Bosier is campaign manager for Sharpe’s primary opponent, former state Rep. Lauri Clapp.

Bosier was stopped by Greenwood Village police Thursday night after she put 10 Sharpe signs in her car. Bosier said she was removing Sharpe signs illegally placed in Centennial’s right of way, and planned to return them to the candidate. But Bosier said as soon as she pulled out of a private parking lot onto Orchard Road near Quebec, the Greenwood Village police showed up.

Greenwood Village police arrived so quickly, Bosier said she got the impression they were guarding the signs, which Sharpe dismissed as a “crazy notion.”   - More -
