Bennet’s new-found support of small business

Hoping to grab business voters away from his Republican opponent, U.S. Sen. Michael Bennet unveiled his plan Tuesday to refire Colorado’s economy.

Bennet proposed easing restrictions on small-business loans and cutting key taxes to inspire a rebound for businesses hit hard by the economic slump. He would also cut the federal estate tax that he said challenges family businesses.

“We know that small businesses create two thirds of all new jobs,” Bennet said by phone from his office in Washington, D.C. “The economy is not going to recover until they have the credit they need to grow.”

Republican challenger Ken Buck’s campaign issued a statement saying Bennet’s pro-business remarks ring hollow.

“Unfortunately, the details surrounding Bennet’s new-found support of small business show he’s all politics,” the Buck campaign said in a news release.    More -
