Former U.S. senator Hank Brown said, he is no longer backing GOP gubernatorial hopeful Dan Maes and is "looking around" for a new candidate.GOP state chair Dick Wadhams characterized Brown's endorsement withdrawal as "significant."
The 9.12 Project Colorado Coalition, has requested an in-person meeting with Maes before the end of the week to discuss concerns about how he's running his campaign.
Former congressman Bob Beauprez, has called for Maes to quit the race.
Former state senator John Andrews said, Maes still had his "unwavering support."
Former congressman and current gubernatorial candidate Tom Tancredo said, "I feel sorry for all those people in the Tea Party and others who put so much faith in Maes."
Colorado’s national GOP committeeman Mark Hillman said he would "take a look at things and see what's what."
Denver Mayor Hickenlooper has so far declined to comment.
