GOP gubernatorial candidate Dan Maes is rejecting calls from prominent members of the Republican party in Colorado to get out of the race.
Arriving late to a scheduled debate at the KBDI studios this afternoon. Maes reiterated his stance by saying: "I'm not going anywhere...people are tired of these power-brokers
Former state Senator John Andrews , who yesterday was giving Maes his "unwavering support," has reversed his opinion and withdrawn his endorsement of Maes. Andrews is now asking Maes to drop out of the race for “the public good.” He added, “I intend to write in a vote for Jane Norton for Governor.”
Former Republican Senate candidate Peter Coors has also taken back his endorsement of Maes and is also requesting that Maes call an end to his candidacy.
State senator Shawn Mitchell , in a Facebook post, said: “ Dan’s ship is sinking and it’s not entirely unfair that it is.”
What else has to happen before Maes gets the point.
ReplyDeleteHas Mark Hillman crossed any body else's mind to be a viable candidate?
ReplyDeleteUnfortunately, Dan only thinks of himself and not the state and the end disaster he is causing. Every time he opens his mouth
ReplyDeleteit is frightening what is going to come out. His dishonest claims of background, questionable spending of campaign funds, - the list goes on. Regardless of how deep they keep digging his
grave, his arrogance will prevent him from making the right choice for our state. One wonders how he can face the people, let alone sleep at night.
it's not so much that Maes needs to get the point, Dan understands the point and so do the voters that voted him into this position. The Republican Elites have been trying to get rid of him for 17 (or so) months and this latest plan is also failing... Andrews and Mitchell, in addition to "old Hats" are siding with the "Good Old Boy" network which is also being challenged during this election cycle.
ReplyDeleteThe point that needs to be understood is that "We the People" are speaking in a loud clear voice and the Republican Elites who think the "good Old Boy" politics will prevail, need to accept that point, or be pushed aside.
