Creating a free and safe environment for people to work and raise a family in Colorado is something that Senate GOP lawmakers say they will pursue –given the opportunity to implement their “five point plan to ensure Coloradans’ protection and prosperity.”Minority Senate Republicans unveiled the plan Wednesday, the fourth in a series of announcements touting their overall Senate agenda for 2011. Among the list of proposals are extending tax credits for private and home-schooling, cracking down on illegal immigration, and ending any taxpayer-funded abortion services.
But Democratic President Pro Tem Betty Boyd, of Lakewood, said the Republican agenda simply reveals the deep philosophical divide between the Democratic and Republican parties and that she doesn’t really “see anything new” in the plan at that. - More -
