"Joe the Plumber" Wurzelbacher was in Pueblo on Tuesday, courtesy of the group, Americans for Prosperity. His job was to fire up about 75 Tea Party and conservative activists at the Sangre de Cristo Arts and Conference Center to help defeat Democrat Congressman John Salazar.
Wurzelbacher energize the crowd with a sort of contrarian commentary that was intended to bruise Democrats and shame Republicans into walking their neighborhoods for conservative candidates.
Wurzelbacher brushed aside any expected GOP allegiance, saying he doesn't really like politics. "Especially Republicans who are saying one thing and then they go off and spend like liberals," he said. "And liberals just want to destroy the country. They really do."
Wurzelbacher directed most of his admiration toward Tea Party activists, who have played a large role in conservative politics this year by pushing their candidates forward, despite the conventional wisdom of whom was electable. – More -
