Bob Beauprez: “Tancredo is the only legitimate conservative”

A political analyst and former Colorado congressman is pleased that his former colleague, Tom Tancredo, is running neck-and-neck with the liberal Democrat in the race for Colorado's next governor.

Former GOP Congressman Bob Beauprez, who has endorsed his friend and former colleague, is not surprised that Tancredo has surged.

"I think people have come to the realization that I did: Tom is the only legitimate conservative that we've got in the race that we can vote for," Beauprez suggests. "Tom is an extremely credible known quantity in Colorado politics, as well as nationally for that matter. He's running an exceptionally good campaign; he's reached out to folks on a one-on-one basis."

He thinks another reason why Tancredo is gaining ground stems from revelations about the charitable organization Hickenlooper started called the Chinook Fund, which "supports extremely left-wing liberal organizations, including a Palestinian support group." The political analyst reports that "this group had a link to Hamas on their website at one time, and John Hickenlooper understandably has refrained from telling people where all of his charitable contributions go."  - More -
