Michael Hancock to announce his candidacy for Denver mayor

Denver Councilman Michael Hancock, will announce that he is running for Denver mayor on Monday.

Hancock, who represents Denver’s Council District 11, said yesterday that after conferring with family and friends over the summer, he has decided take a shot at the mayor’s office.

Evan Dreyer, the spokesman for Gov. Bill Ritter, is reported to be managing Hancock’s campaign.
