Tuesday’s rumor that that anti-tax activist Douglas Bruce was planning on running for Colorado Springs City Council has proven to be true.
At a press conference today, Bruce announced that he is running for an at-large City Council seat in April's election.
“I am running because I think if you’re going to be a critic of government, you have a responsibility to provide alternatives, and that’s what I want to do,” he said.
Bruce, a former El Paso County commissioner and state representative, joins 14 other candidates who are vying for five open at-large City Council seats.
