Coffman on cutting military funding for the F-35 - Joint Strike Fighter Program

Congressman Mike Coffman (R-CD6) released the following statement Thursday in response to the passage of Amendment 2 to House Resolution 1, a continuing resolution to fund government operations from March 5 through Sept. 30. The amendment eliminates funding for the Joint Strike Fighter (F-35) alternate engine program:

“As I argued on the House floor, the second engine to the Joint Strike Fighter is a mistake. Its $2.9 billion cost is a total waste of taxpayer dollars,” Coffman said. “The Department of Defense is clear: they don’t need it and they don’t want it.”
