Colorado Healthy Rivers Fund check-off program renewed

Tuesday House Bill 11-1177, Healthy Rivers Fund Tax Donation, sponsored by Senator Jean White, R-Hayden, was signed today by Governor Hickenlooper. This bill continues the work of the Colorado Healthy Rivers Fund which works to protect outdoor areas across the state.

“Northwest Colorado is home to countless outdoor recreational areas and rivers,” said Senate White. “Extending the work of this important organization will ensure our rivers and open lands stay healthy and clean.”

The Colorado Healthy Rivers Fund is funded by the Colorado checkoff program. This program gives taxpayers the ability to contribute a portion of their tax return or make a donation to assist local conservation groups in their efforts to protect the state’s land and water resources.
