Udall Pushes for Credit Union Amendment

Thursday, in a speech on the Senate floor, Mark Udall urged his colleagues to pass his bipartisan, no-cost credit union lending bill, which he claims would create over 100,000 new jobs in the first year alone.

Udall's amendment is based on a bill he introduced earlier this month, which would raise the cap that currently limits the amount of small-business loans credit unions are allowed to make. The Credit Union National Association conservatively estimates that Udall's bill will increase small-business lending by more than $10 billion in the first year - including an increase of nearly $200 million in Colorado - at no cost to taxpayers.
