Coffman Receives National Taxpayers Union Award

U.S. Rep. Mike Coffman (R-CD6) was recognized by the National Taxpayers Union (NTU) as a recipient of its 2010 “Taxpayers’ Friend Award.” Coffman earned the honor by consistently voting for taxpayer friendly policies and to reduce government spending.

“I am honored for the recognition,” Coffman said. “I will continue to oppose the tax-and-spend policies of big government and to fight on behalf of American taxpayers.”

NTU Executive Vice President Pete Sepp said, "Congressman Mike Coffman's 90 percent score puts him in the front ranks of lawmakers who fought for limited government and lower burdens on taxpayers in 2010. He is providing genuine leadership for fiscal responsibility that taxpayers in the 6th District and across the nation can count on in this critical time for our economy."

Formed in 1969, the National Taxpayers Union (NTU) an independent, non-partisan advocate for American taxpayers. It mobilizes elected officials and the general public on behalf of tax relief and reform, lower and less wasteful spending, individual liberty, and free enterprise.
