Sen. Roberts Appointed To Deficit Reduction Task Force

State Senator Ellen Roberts, R-Durango, was appointed to the Executive Committee Task Force on Federal Deficit Reduction created by the National Conference of State Legislature (NCSL).

“The ballooning federal deficit is one of the greatest problems we face as a state and nation,” said Roberts. “We must reduce the federal deficit. There is no question about that. However, it must be done in a way that does not shift the financial burden on state and local governments. I will work diligently to ensure this voice is heard on the Task Force,”

The Task Force was established in August of 2010 as an initiative of NCSL President Senator Richard Moore. The Task Force focuses on ensuring federal policymakers are aware of the impact various federal deficit reduction proposals may have on state and local governments.
