State Sen. Renfroe named 'Statesman of the Year' by CHEC

Thursday was Homeschool Day at the Capitol. Families from across the state came to meet with their elected officials and discuss issues facing Colorado’s homeschooling community.

Senator Scott Renfroe, R-Greeley, was honored by the Christian Home Educators of Colorado (CHEC) as their Statesman of the Year at a rally outside the Capitol. Each year CHEC honors a Representative or Senator who best emulates the qualities of a true selfless leader in the arena of public policy.

“As an advocate for the educators, families and students in homeschools across Colorado, I am honored to receive this award,” said Renfroe. “I will continue to stand up for the rights of parents who choose to educate their children at home.”
