Backers of Colorado personhood amendment on Monday announced their "grassroots" strategy to turn the 3-to-1 defeat of a ballot proposal to redefine personhood in 2008 into constitutional change this year.
If approved by voters, the measure would define the term "person" and rights in the state constitution "to apply to every human being from the beginning of the biological development of that human being."
Opponents worry that the law could, after litigation or legislation, lead to banning abortion, emergency contraception and some forms of birth control. – More -
