Hickenlooper ‘Not Wedded’ to Denver’s crash tax

Denver Mayor John Hickenlooper said today that while he thinks there’s a sound rationale behind charging a new fee to non-Denver residents found at-fault in car accidents on highways in Denver, his administration “is not wedded” to the proposal.

The plan would raise about $1.1 million annually. The fee was one of a number of proposals in the mayor’s 2010 budget that were used to help close a $160 million budget deficit. Read More -
