If Scott McInnis wins the GOP primary for governor and Republicans are successful in talking him into dropping out because of a plagiarism scandal, several key leaders believe Hillman is their best bet to take on Denver Mayor John Hickenlooper.“I think Republicans could easily rally around Mark Hillman if the opportunity presented itself,” a key Republican said today. “He is probably one of the most articulate, knowledgeable leaders in the party. He could hit the ground running.
“He he’s got a great combination of not being in political office right not, but having a very admireable record of public service.”
