Markey has almost double the money of challenger Gardner

State Rep. Cory Gardner, the highly touted GOP recruit running in Colorado's battleground 4th district, raised more $377,000 during the second quarter.

His campaign says that Gardner now has nearly $763,000 in the bank for his bid against freshman Rep. Betsy Markey (D), who national Republicans view as a top target in her traditionally Republican district.

Despite the challenger's impressive showing, the incumbent's doing better. Markey pulled in $528,000 between April 1 and June 30.

Her campaign had about $1.5 million in the bank at the end of the quarter.             – More -
