Romanoff paying DPS board member who trash talks Bennet

Andrew Romanoff's Democratic Senate campaign has been paying Denver school board member Andrea Merida thousands of dollars in consulting fees while she has attacked the former administration of Sen. Michael Bennet in board meetings and other forums.

Merida earned $5,000 from the campaign in May and June. In Wednesday's Denver Post, Merida wrote a guest commentary piece confronting former Denver Public Schools chief Bennet and another board member, Theresa Peña, who is an unpaid treasurer for the Bennet campaign. Merida did not disclose to The Post, nor in many other forums, that she is a paid Romanoff staffer.    More -
