Romanoff's war chest, in this case size does matter

Andrew Romanoff, the Colorado Senate candidate aiming to upend appointed Sen. Michael Bennet, enters the final three weeks of the Democratic primary campaign at a significant financial disadvantage, according to his second-quarter fundraising report, released Tuesday.

After capturing the endorsement of former President Bill Clinton, the former state House speaker reported spending more than he raised over the last three months, leaving him with just $464,340 on hand to use over the homestretch. Romanoff brought in $619,814; he spent $657,454.

Bennet’s $2.6 million leaves him with almost six times as much as Romanoff.   More
