Is Ken Buck going soft on immigration?

The issue of illegal immigration has become the latest flash point in the closing days of Colorado's combative Republican Senate primary.

And it's not Weld County District Attorney Ken Buck, who's hard-line stance on illegal immigration has endeared him to many conservatives, who's brought the issue to the fore. It's Jane Norton, Buck's opponent and the one-time primary front-runner now shown to be behind.

In Norton's new radio ad, a narrator refers to another "caught on tape" moment from Buck where he reportedly said he'd be willing to consider supporting citizenship for illegal immigrants.

"Amnesty is unacceptable," Norton said. "I believe that. Ken Buck used to."

While Buck, shown to be up nine points on Norton in a recent Survey USA poll, could arguably be tacking back to the political center with an eye on the fall's general election campaign, his campaign is drawing attention to Norton's own recent shift to the right on the issue of amnesty.   More -
