Norton: "I'm the only candidate in the Senate race who isn't an Ivy League lawyer”

The race to the Aug. 10 primary election has boiled down to a final sprint this week and former Lt. Gov. Jane Norton brought her Senate campaign to Pueblo on Wednesday, hoping to win over Republican voters who haven't yet cast their ballot.

"I'm the only candidate in the Senate race this year who isn't an Ivy League lawyer," Norton said, noting that Buck attended Princeton University while Democratic Senate candidates Michael Bennet and Andrew Romanoff both attended Yale Law School.

Norton is a Colorado native and is the former Region 8 Director of the federal Department of Health and Human Services. Then, Owens named her to head the state Department of Public Health and the Environment. During Owens' second term, Norton was his lieutenant governor.  - More -
