Stapleton wns GOP treasurer’s race

In a late-night victory, state treasurer candidate and real estate investor Walker Stapleton beat investment banker and Republican Party favorite J.J. Ament after leading by a few percentage points all evening.

Stapleton raised more than half a million dollars in his quest for the GOP nomination, about $160,000 of that from his own pockets. He'll pose a greater challenge financially to master fundraiser and Democratic incumbent Cary Kennedy in the general election.   – More -
