Bennet’s attempts to beat the current distaste for Congress

Usually, incumbents hold an edge in winning re-election when challenged. But perhaps not this year, as polls indicate an enormous distaste for Congress — one poll puts the disapproval rating at 70 percent. Inexperience, this election season, may be the best experience.

It’s that anti-establishment tide that Colorado’s freshman Democratic Senator Michael Bennet finds himself swimming against in his bid to wrangle the senate seat this fall from Republican Ken Buck. He was appointed to the Senate after President Barack Obama tapped then-Senator Ken Salazar to run the U.S. Department of the Interior.    More -
