Colorado Republican Ken Buck was on Capitol Hill on Wednesday for a private meeting with Senate Minority Leader Mitch McConnell (R-Ky.), but was vague when asked to reveal the details of their discussion. Buck, the Weld County district attorney challenging appointed Sen. Michael Bennet (D-Colo.), would say only that he “said hello” to McConnell and “talked about the state a little bit.” But he did compliment McConnell and Republicans in Washington for the support they have given him since he won the primary over GOP establishment favorite Jane Norton, the former Colorado lieutenant governor.
“Everyone has been great once the primary was over; the Republican Party came together and has been very supportive,” Buck told reporters after emerging from McConnell’s office. - More -
