Tipton wants to reduce capital gains and corporate tax to 10 percent

Republican Congressional candidate Scott Tipton says he's taking nothing for granted in what is shaping up to be a tight race between him and Democratic incumbent John Salazar.

Tipton spent time in Grand Junction Thursday night, taking questions from voters in a town hall style meeting.

During the meeting, he touted a new poll released by the American Action Forum, which shows him with an 8 point lead over Salazar.

"I think we have the tide, we have the issues, and we have the solutions more importantly," said Tipton. "And the hearts of the people are on our side."

In addition to taking questions, Tipton also discussed what he's calling his three 10's plan, which would reduce non-military discretionary by 10 percent, cut the capital gains tax to a flat 10 percent rate, and reduce the corporate tax to a flat 10 percent.
