According to a new poll from Public Policy Polling, Denver Mayor Hickenlooper remains at 47% while Tom Tancredo is now at 33%. Dan Maes has lost even more support, coming in at 13%.Mayor Hickenlooper has so far been unable to break the 50% mark in the race. Tancredo’s support, on the other hand, has been on a steady increase.
According to the pollsters, “If the trend of Maes voters defecting to Tancredo continues over the next four weeks, this race has the potential to get a whole lot tighter.”
I have NEVER cast a vote for a Democrat in my life. But, this will be the first. Frankly, I believe that Hickenlooper is the better of the 3 candidates.
ReplyDeleteI don't like Maes' record as a police officer. He showed a lack of integrity, and makes me believe that he would pull a similar stunt in Washington. We don't need a hothead representing Colorado.
Tancredo needed to be patient. It wasn't his turn yet, and he needed to be a humble supporter of the Colorado conservative movement. Instead, he tanked the party for his own self interest. If he would abandon the party before being elected, he would FOR SURE abandon the party after getting the job. I just don't trust him.
Hickenlooper has a "D" by his name. But he's run a small business. He's done good things for downtown Denver. He understands the dynamics of the oil/gas industry. He might favor abortion and welfare payments, but that goes with the territory. Frankly, this referendum is about the economy. And Hick just seems to be a better fit for that role.
