John Salazar’s last stand

U.S. Rep. John Salazar, D-Colo., glanced up at the television screen at West Star Aviation just as the sun peeked over Grand Mesa this morning. Grand Junction was the first stop for Salazar as he toured the 3rd Congressional District in a last bid for votes.

Salazar is challenged by Republican Scott Tipton, a Cortez businessman and legislator in a rematch of their 2006 race, one that Salazar acknowledged was going to be much tighter than the first race, which he won by 25 percentage points.

“Scott’s a really good campaigner,” Salazar said.       More -
