Lamborn’s Public Broadcasting de-funding bill fails

A bill that would have de-funded several Public Broadcasting programs failed in the House of Representatives on Thursday.

The bill, which was authored by U.S. Rep. Doug Lamborn, (R) of Colorado Springs, was defeated by votes from both political parties.

Lamborn said his goal was to curtail federal spending and help reduce the deficit. His bill would have saved the government nearly $400 million per year.

Lamborn said that he may reintroduce the bill in the next session of congress.
