Jefferson County officials have declared GOP candidate Robert Ramirez the winner in the House District 29 race. The final ballot count shows that Ramirez beat incumbent Democrat Debbie Benefield by 197 votes following a recount. Ramirez won 12,738 to 12,541.Jefferson County Clerk Pam Anderson said “We’ve completed the required post-election procedures and we are pleased that this election has been completed and the final results have been certified.”
House Majority Leader Amy Stephens, R-Monument, said “With the new House Majority in place, it is time to put electoral politics aside and get to work on behalf of Colorado citizens.”
