Sen. Chris Romer tests the Denver mayoral waters

State Sen. Chris Romer announced Monday, that he has filed the necessary paperwork to officially explore the possibility of running for Denver mayor.

“Last Tuesday’s election results clearly spoke to voters’ concerns about their long-term financial and job security, as well as the proper role and cost of government. We’re all focused on what’s facing our families and businesses, but I know our best times are still ahead,” Romer said in a statement. “These challenges require us to come together as a community, roll up our sleeves, and work hard to keep Denver a great place to live and work.”

Sen. Chris Romer, the son of former Gov. Roy Romer, said that he will take a few weeks to discuss the matter with his family, friends and constituents and then decide whether or not he will officially run.
