State Rep. Tom Massey will serve as chairman of the House Education Committee in the next two Colorado state legislative sessions.
The Poncha Springs Republican won re-election to his fourth and final District 60 House term Nov. 2.
As chairman, Massey will oversee the 13-member Education Committee with seven Republicans and six Democrats. He was elected during a caucus of other GOP House members after the election.
Massey said the key issue facing the next legislative session is the state budget. Estimates are Colorado faces a deficit between $600 million and $1.1 billion for the 2011-12 fiscal year. – More -
