Next month, when the Colorado General Assembly convenes, Rep. Ed Vigil D HD62, plans on introducing a bill to repeal Daylight Saving Time.
“In this modern day, it’s not that much savings,” Vigil said. “People are indoors a lot of the time. I myself don’t like to come home from work in the dark. In rural Colorado, the game starts moving around at nightfall and it turns dangerous on the roads.
“I think it’s an antiquated way of trying to save energy," Vigil said.
Daylight saving time first began in the United States during World War I. Although some states and communities observed daylight saving time between the wars, it was not observed nationally again until World War II.
