Hickenlooper’s inaugural events announced

Colorado Can Do, Gov.-elect John Hickenlooper’s inaugural planning committee, has announced the official itinerary for the Jan. 11 gubernatorial inauguration.

In consideration of current economic conditions, Hickenlooper’s inaugural events will be more subdued than past inaugurations.

“We have been dedicated to doing more with less and this inaugural celebration will be no exception,” Hickenlooper said in a statement.

Inaugural Events:

10 a.m. – Swearing in Ceremony - The inauguration ceremony for John Hickenlooper, Joseph Garcia and all other statewide elected officials will take place on the west steps of the Colorado State Capitol. The event is FREE and open to the public. Open seating begins at 8:00AM. Seating is limited and first come, first serve.

5:30 p.m. — Inaugural Dinner –The non-traditional inaugural dinner at the Fillmore Auditorium will “celebrate “ Colorado’s rich cultural heritage with food and bands from around the state.” Attire is dressy western and or business. Tickets are available online for $100.

9 p.m. — Inaugural concert - OneRepublic and a ‘very special’ unannounced guest will perform at Denver’s Ogden Theater. Tickets are available online for $75.
