Weissmann to be new House Dem chief of staff

House Democrats announced Friday that former state senator and current House majority leader Paul Weissmann, will be their new chief of staff.

House Minority Leader-elect Sal Pace says Weissmann brings an institutional knowledge that will continue to benefit his party.

“His deep understanding of the issues and of the legislative process, and his integrity and ethics, make him a natural fit,” said Pace, adding that “it doesn’t hurt like all good bartenders, he has a great sense of humor and an ability to listen to others.”

Weissmann is completing eight years in the Colorado State House and is term limited from running again.

Weissmann’s district represents Louisville, Lafayette and part of Longmont in the Legislature. He also spent four years representing an eastern Boulder County district in the state Senate in the 1990s.
