Cory Gardner to take on unchecked regulation

The Coloradoan reports that Rep. Cory Gardner plans to take aim at what he sees as unchecked regulation by the Obama administration.

In an interview with the Coloradoan as he prepared to take office, the Yuma Republican said his priorities were solidified by a "listening tour" he conducted with elected officials in all 18 counties in the district.

"There were certainly specific issues that each county came forward with, whether it was a Forest Service issue on the grasslands in southeastern Colorado or an issue that someone is working with in Larimer County," Gardner said.

"But when it came to sort of an overall theme, obviously you heard what was by far and away a great emphasis of the entire listening tour, over mandates, unfunded mandates."

Gardner will be sworn in on Wednesday and will serve on the House Energy and Commerce Committee, considered one of the three most influential committees in that chamber.   More -
