Party-line vote limits 2nd Amendment rights

Wednesday in the State Senate, Veterans, and Military Affairs Committee Democrat lawmakers voted to weaken the Second Amendment rights of Colorado citizens. On a party-line vote, Democrats voted down Senate bill 11-053 by Senator Scott Renfroe, R-Greeley, which would have eliminated the authority of the governor to suspend or limit the sale, dispensing, or transportation of firearms during a state of disaster emergency.

After the committee hearing, Senator Renfroe expressed his disappointment over the vote.
