Today, the Colorado Senate confirmed three appointees to the Board of Directors for Pinnacol Assurance, the state-chartered workers compensation insurance company.
The three appointees, chosen by Governor John Hickenlooper, are John Cevette, Blair Richardson, and John Plotkin. Cevette and Richardson will serve on the Board as employee representatives; Plotkin will serve on the Board as an employer representative.
The appointment of John Cevette has garnered the most attention. Cevette has been critical of Pinnacol’s use of premiums paid by Colorado business owners to fund expensive luxury vacations.
Cevette offered the following comment regarding his confirmation to the Pinnacol Board:
“I am honored to be confirmed as a member of the board of Pinnacol. As a board member, I look forward to supporting Pinnacol’s mission to serve injured workers and provide affordable coverage for employers.”
