Congressional Western Caucus Names Gardner Policy Chairman

The Congressional Western Caucus has named Congressman Cory Gardner (R –CD4) its new Policy Chairman. Gardner will oversee the policy task forces and advise the caucus members on policy, legislation and regulations related to the caucus’s core mission.

“I would like to thank Congressman Gardner for taking on this leadership position with the Congressional Western Caucus. Cory is one of the many fresh faces in Washington that understands western values and the challenges we face with the Obama Administration’s ‘War on the West.’ I look forward to working with him to defend those values by promoting policies that create jobs and preserve our cherished western way of life ,” said Congressional Western Caucus Chairman Steve Pearce.

Gardner said,“Growing up in a small farm town on the eastern plains of Colorado, I understand the ways in which the federal government is infringing on our western way of life. It is an honor to serve as the Policy Chairman for the Congressional Western Caucus and be an active voice for rural and western issues, such as protecting private lands and working toward energy independence."

The Congressional Western Caucus was established in 1993 to enhance, sustain and preserve the West’s dynamic and unique culture, and to find innovative solutions that address the distinctive concerns facing western and rural communities.
