Wednesday Senator Nancy Spence, R-Centennial, honored the memory of Janet Bonnema, a Colorado woman who was instrumental in the fight for gender equality. “Janet Bonnema is a symbol of the women’s rights movement in Colorado and across the nation,” said Spence. “I believe it’s important we honor someone who paved the way for generations of women who now benefit from her dedication for equality.”
Janet was a good friend of mine in Saigon, Vietnam in the early 70's. We both worked in the education department in Tah Son Nhut. We lost touch after that. She was so much fun. I am saddened to see she has passed away. If any of her family and friends see this would love to hear from you.
